<image:title>Ellyn Wolfe, Author/Home - Grateful for the Color Blue: Surviving the Loss of an Adult Child</image:title>
<image:caption>Parents aren’t supposed to outlive their children, but they do. Ellyn Wolfe’s journey through hell and out the other side begins with a phone call from 3,000 miles away, “Mom, I have cancer.” A memoir of loss and survival, optimism and coping strategies, estrangement and reconnection, Grateful for the Color Blue is a compassionate outreach to anyone who has lived through loss and needs to know they are not alone. Beautifully written with heart-wrenching intensity, diversionary escapes into nature, and revelations about intuition and mindfulness that yield startling results, this memoir reads like a page-turner novel. <image:title>Interviews/Media/Press Info - I entered my memoir “Grateful” in the Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards contest. I didn’t win (darn), but feel I’m a huge winner with the book review they wrote. Here are the highlights.</image:title>
<image:caption>Writer's Digest Magazine review: “Grateful for the Color Blue/Surviving the Loss of an Adult Child” A 5 rating = Outstanding · “Author has thought a lot about settings and their impacts on scenes. She mentions often about sitting and being still, which connects us to one of her core values and coping mechanisms. When her son is diagnosed, author creates a standout moment where Susan’s shoulder’s ‘quiver’ as he delivers the news. This one movement tells us so much about the care she has for Rob, and while he is being brave, she foreshadows his battle.” · “The words ‘I love you’ rise from a dusty place and pulse with emotion. Grief can pull humanity out of people, and I’m teary remembering this beautiful scene. ‘I’m fighting, I’m fighting’ unleashed whatever restraint this reader had with sadness and tears.” · “The author has the energy of someone who has a lot to say and holds tight to her edges in discerning where she goes with her memories. Beautiful and heartbreaking. Well done.” · “We feel for the author’s collection of losses. Excellent work here.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Children's Books - Watch this space for my upcoming children’s books!</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m putting the final touches on two children’s stories, The Blue River Ran and Partridge in My Pear Tree, both inspired by my tuxedoed grand-kitty who flies across the country from Massachusetts to visit me in California. He loves to warm himself in a sunny window and watch the critters outside. When a bird or a lizard strolls by, his ears rotate, his body shivers with excitement, and he emits little squeaks. Read Partridge in My Pear Tree to see what happens. The silly, tongue-twisting tale, The Blue River Ran, is sure to bring on the giggles and bring out the “ewww’s” in both kids and their parents. Have you ever watched as a kitty shifts from passively sleeping in the sun to possessed? His eyes get large and flash bright green, he zig-zags full speed through the living room, rounds the corner to the bedroom with legs running like a cartoon character as he slides sideways on the polished floor. Once, in one of these crazy moods, he sprung from the floor to a dining room chair, straight up onto the table, and landed with all fours in my bean and cheese burrito, only to spring right back to the floor, leaving frijole refrito pawprints across the carpet ! Hmmm, I think there’s another story here.</image:caption>
